Vice-Chancellor Per Eriksson is the University’s chief representative and, on behalf of the University Board, is responsible for the management of the University’s activities. The Vice-Chancellor issues regulations and has a general duty of supervision for the University. This includes both monitoring activities and taking the initiative for renewal and change. The Vice-Chancellor is a member of the University Board.
The Vice-Chancellor is appointed by the Swedish Government for a maximum of six years, based on the recommendation of the University Board. Per Eriksson is Vice-Chancellor for the period 1 January 2009–31 December 2014.
Per Eriksson has overall responsibility for all the University’s activities (in cooperation with Deputy Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg), and within the University Management Group he has particular responsibility for external relations, fundraising and communication.
Per Eriksson completed a PhD in telecommunications theory at Lund University in 1981. He went on to work as a lecturer in telecommunications and signal processing at the Faculty of Engineering, eventually becoming head of the Department of Teletransmission Theory. From 1989 to 2000 he was Vice-Chancellor of Blekinge Institute of Technology, before becoming Director-General of Vinnova in 2001. In 2007 he was made professor of signal processing at Lund University and in 2009 he became Vice-Chancellor.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg has special responsibility for first-, second- and third-cycle education, associated quality assurance and internationalisation.
Eva Wiberg is a Professor of Italian. Her research concerns second language acquisition and bilingualism, with a focus on Italian. Eva Wiberg has long experience of teaching and supervision. She is a Dame of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity (Stella della Solidarietà Italiana) for her outstanding contribution to the development of Italian at Lund University.
After gaining a German university entrance certificate in Rome, Eva Wiberg took a degree in modern languages at Lund University and studied at Università la Sapienza in Rome.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Carl Borrebaeck has particular responsibility for innovation.
Professor Carl Borrebaeck graduated from Lund University with a Ph.D. in 1979, focusing on biomolecular interactions of the immune system. During his post-doc period at the University of California in Davis, he set up the first hybridoma laboratory and generated monoclonal antibodies against a number of regulatory proteins. He returned to Sweden and was appointed to a position as reader in 1982, followed by the first professor chair in Immunotechnology in 1989.
Professor Borrebaeck's research field is antibody engineering, immunotherapy, B-cell lymphomas, molecular mechanisms of allergy and antibody microarrays for high-throughput proteomics. He has published over 230 peer-reviewed articles and reviews in these areas.
Carl Borrebaeck is currently the manager of the Swegene Microarray Resource Centre - MARC - and the director of the strategic center CREATE Health. He is a permanent member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences.
Carl Borrebaeck is co-founder of the biotech companies BioInvent International AB and Alligator Bioscience AB.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Nils Danielsen has special responsibility for leader, teacher and employee excellence.
He is a Professor at the Neuronano Research Centre (NRC), Department of Experimental Medical Science.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Sven Strömqvist has special responsibility for research, research education and internalisation issues.
He is a Professor of General Linguistics and Language Acquisition at Lund University. He also holds a position as Affiliate Professor at the University of Stavanger.
Professor Strömqvist is also a Principal Investigator of the Wallenberg Network Initiative - a scientific cooperation programme between Stanford University, Lund University and Umeå University - where among other things, the network studies the effects of narrative information on cognitive processes such as memory and learning.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Kristina Eneroth was appointed in February 2013 and has special responsibility for internationalisation.
Kristina Eneroth is also the Vice-Dean of Education at the School of Economics and Management.
She is an Associate Professor in Strategic Management and Leadership. Her research is focused on the connection of strategic change and organisational learning, especially in fast growing high-tech companies. Another field of interest is the strategic marketing of born-global companies.
Susanne Kristensson is the University Director and responsible for university administration and finances on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, and for the duties of the University’s central administration.
Susanne Kristensson has a Master’s degree in Law.
She worked at United Nations Centre for Human Rights, Geneva (1992), District Court (1993 -1995) and Police Authority (1996-1997) before she started her employment as a Legal Counsel at Lund University in 1997.
She has been Chief Legal Counsel at the University since 2005. She was head of Management Support within the central administration in 2009 – 2012.
