International cooperation

Internationalisation is one of Lund University's strategies as we seek to be a world-class university.

Flags from many nations

As a part of our internationalisation strategy Lund University cooperates with universities all over the world through bilateral agreements, research collaborations, networks and cooperation programmes. An important aim is prioritising long-term relationships.

We are actively involved in the international research-intensive university network, Universitas 21 (U21) and also the League of European Research Universities (LERU).

As a highly ranked University, our partners include other top-100 universities from across the world, including University of California, Melbourne University, University of British Colombia, Peking University, National University of Singapore, Hong Kong University, University of Edinburgh, New York University, and many more.

Today we have over 680 partner universities in over 50 countries. Lund University both sends and receives the largest number of exchange students of all higher education institutions in Sweden.

We attract students and researchers from over 130 countries which makes Lund University an international meeting place for education, research and innovation.

It is only by being alert to the world around us that we can advance and develop.
