LU welcomes students from around the world on Arrival Day

Students arriving at Lund University with their suitcases

Tuesday 16 August 2016 is "Arrival Day" for over 2,000 new international students at Lund University.

Arrival Day is a dedicated day to welcome international students to their new environment at Lund University.

Students are greeted by international mentors at Copenhagen Airport and at the Lund train station, before being driven to the Academic Society building to be ‘checked in’, given keys to their accommodation and purchase tickets for orientation activities. Throughout the day, around 70 student mentors volunteer to assist the new students, alongside a team of staff.

Approximately 1,100 exchange students and 1,000 international degree programme students from more than 110 countries are expected on Arrival Day to start studies this autumn semester.

The largest student groups for autumn 2016 studies will come from Germany, USA, the UK, the Netherlands, France, China and Canada.
