The Friend Family Programme

The Friend Family programme is an activity within Student Services at Lund University. This programme helps you to find a Swedish family that would like to welcome you as an occasional guest in their home. Please note that the family will not provide any kind of accommodation.

Would you like to know more about Swedish everyday life, try some Swedish home cooking or take part in some family indoor and outdoor activities? Apply for a Friend Family and become a Friend Student!

Lund University has selected a range of families and individuals in Lund who are willing to welcome a guest student into their everyday life. The families range from couples with or without children to single people and retired people. Some of the families also have international backgrounds.

After receiving your application we try to find a suitable Friend Family for you - perhaps someone who shares some of your interests and hobbies, or someone with experiences of your home country. Please note that the Friend Family does not have any financial or other obligations. The aim of the programme is to facilitate intercultural exchange.

Lund University has carefully selected the Friend Family participants. Nonetheless, we cannot assume any liability.
