Internships via ERASMUS

The Erasmus placement programme provides you, as a Lund University student, with the opportunity to apply for a grant in view of an internship abroad.

We accept applications for Erasmus internships on an ongoing basis. You have to apply for a scholarship before the start of the internship.

You can do your internship (called “placement” in Erasmus terms) at a company, organisation or research and education centre in one of the countries that participate in the Erasmus placement programme. You are responsible for finding your own placement. As an intern, you can apply for an Erasmus placement grant.

Application for an Erasmus placement grant

The link to the application form is available at the bottom of this page. Proceed as follows:

  • Read through the conditions below
  • Click on the link at the bottom and accept the conditions
  • Fill in the form and click "Send"
  • Print out the form that appears, sign it and get it countersigned by your coordinator
  • Follow the checklist (Pdf 129 Kb) for mandatory supplements

Conditions for an Erasmus intern

In order to be eligible to apply for an Erasmus placement grant, you must:

  • be registered as a full time student at Lund University at the time of application or have been granted approved leave from a study programme at Lund University
  • get your placement accepted for credit transfer or recognised by Lund University
  • not have been a previous recipient of an placement grant through the Erasmus or Leonardo da Vinci programmes
  • have found an approved placement host organisation which is prepared to take you on, full time, for a total period of 3-6 months within the contract period (1 June 2012-30 September 2013) and which is eligible for an Erasmus placement. Read more in the Frequently Asked Questions 2011/12 (Pdf 86Kb).
  • do your placement in a country approved for internships (Pdf 114 Kb).
  • apply for a grant before the start of the placement
  • be domiciled in the country where the internship is taking place during the placement period. NB! This also applies to placements in Denmark

Please note that students who have completed at least one year of study at Lund University, who intend to graduate from Lund University and whose placement is approved for credit transfer are prioritised in the selection process.

It is possible to apply for an Erasmus placement grant for an internship in your home country, if it is included in Erasmus (see below). But your application will be ranked low, because the Erasmus placement program wants to enhance the contact with new cultures.

Please notice that living expenses differ from country to country. Make sure you have the financial possibility to live outside Sweden before you apply for an internship.
