To meet the general admission requirements for Bachelor’s level studies all students must:

  • have successfully completed their upper secondary education (post-16) that gives access to universities in the student’s home country. Note that for students who received their final school grades after 31 December 2009, there is an additional entry requirement for mathematics as follows: the student must have successfully completed courses in mathematics to reach the level of the Swedish course Mathematics A (approximately 10 years of mathematics studies). This mathematics requirement does not apply to students who received their final school grades before 1 January 2010
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognised test, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS or the equivalent
  • there may be some other country specific requirements - check universityadmissions.se for all official requirements

Master's level studies:

To meet the entry requirements for Master's level studies, you must:

  • have been awarded a Bachelor's degree from an internationally recognised university.
  • be able to demonstrate proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognised test, e. g. TOEFL, IELTS or the equivalent.

Specific admission requirements:

In addition to the general admission requirements, you must meet the specific admission requirements as detailed by each programme. For example, many Master’s degree programmes require that your Bachelor’s degree has a particular major, or you may need to have completed certain subject credits within your Bachelor’s degree. The specific admission requirements for the programme can be found under the programme’s admission requirements

English language proficiency

There are three different English proficiency levels: English A, B and C. Most Lund University programmes and courses require English B (advanced level) language proficiency, but it is important that you check the programme or course that you are interested in for the specific English language requirements. If English is not your mother tongue, you will need to demonstrate language proficiency through an internationally recognised test.
