Application rounds at Lund University

Information about the autumn (15 October-15 January) and spring (1 June-15 August) international application rounds for Bachelor's and Master's studies at Lund University can be found here. (Please note that most international programmes only start in autumn and are therefore only open in the application round 15 October-15 January.)

In addition to these international application rounds, Lund University has two later “Swedish student” application rounds every year; 15 March - 15 April for studies starting in autumn and 15 September – 15 October for studies starting in spring.

Some courses and programmes that are taught in English may be open in both the early, international student application round and the later “Swedish student” application round. Some courses and programmes, even though taught in English, are only open for application in the later “Swedish student” application round. As an international student you may be able to apply for courses and programmes in the later application round if you are an EU/EEA citizen or already have a residence permit in Sweden or the EU/EEA.

If the programme or course that you are interested in has the application message “This programme/course is currently closed for applications” on the right hand side of the programme webpage at www.lunduniversity.lu.se it means that there is currently no international application round open for this programme or course. However, if it is the time period when the later, “Swedish student” application round is open, the programme or course may still be open for applications in this round. To find out, please go to the national application website for Swedish students www.antagning.se and search for the programme/course there. To apply you need to create an account and follow the same process as when you apply in the international application round. Details can be found at the national application website for international students www.universityadmissions.se. You can also find an overview of the application process at the Lund University website here.

Non-EU/EEA citizens without residence permits in Sweden will generally not be able to get their residence permit in time for the start of the semester if they apply in the later application rounds. Therefore these students should only ever apply in the international application rounds.
