Housing

Lund is a small university city with a limited amount of accommodation and many students are looking for housing at the same time. Therefore, we recommend that you have your accommodation sorted out before your arrival. Lund University does not have a campus area. The University departments and housing areas are spread throughout the city.

To find somewhere to live in Lund, Malmö or Helsingborg you can apply via LU Accommodation or use an accommodation agency.

We cannot guarantee housing to all students and ultimately it is your own responsibility to find housing. Some students have a housing guarantee. The housing guarantee means that we will provide a place for you to live within LU Accommodation's housing options. 

Students with housing guarantee

• Non EU/EEA students (required to pay tuition fees) admitted to full-time studies of at least 30 ECTS

• Students coming to Lund on a Linnaeus-Palme scholarship

• Students from the University of California coming to Lund on the bilateral exchange agreement 

For students admitted to a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme should receive information on how to apply for housing from a coordinator at Lund University. The email should also state if you are eligible for a housing guarantee. Once you have registered you can access the services of LU Accommodation. We cannot guarantee a specific housing option of your choice. However we will do everything we can to meet your wishes.

Students without housing guarantee

Students who are not guaranteed housing may also apply for housing through LU Accommodation. You will receive information from your coordinator on how to apply. We will do our best to help you, but we cannot guarantee that you will get housing through LU Accommodation and it is your own responsibility to find housing.
