Arrival Day is the start of the introduction weeks, or orientation programme if you are an exchange student. During the weeks following Arrival Day you will have the chance to learn more about Sweden and Lund and to make new friends.
The introduction weeks for international students include a variety of activities that aim to help you settle in smoothly at the University and in student life.
Please note that many of the Master’s programmes also organise their own introduction the week before the first course starts. You will receive this information from your programme coordinator.
Exchange students have an orientation programme the two weeks after Arrival Day. Many activities are the same for all international students, but some activities, lectures and courses are only for exchange students.
The activities may vary from year to year, but below are some of the activities that generally occur during the introduction weeks/orientation programme.
At the general information meeting, staff from the University and representatives from the students' unions and student nations will provide useful information about life in Lund and at the University. You will also be able to sign up for more information and even join some organisations. The general information meeting and fair are usually held on the day after Arrival Day.
Exchange students who have applied to SLOP/SUSA will have classes in introductory Swedish and lectures on Swedish culture. The course ends with a written examination (3 ECTS). Please note that the SUSA course is currently only offered to exchange students.
