Wireless Communications student ambassador Gopal
Introducing Gopal
Hi! My name is Gopal. I'm from India, and I'm the student ambassador for the Master's Programme in Wireless Communications at LTH. I'm here to tell you more about the programme, university, and life at LTH, and answer questions you might have about these things. Please be informed that I will not be able to answer queries regarding the application process, scholarships, or residence permits.
My experience so far
After my Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication, I was looking to pursue further education at a university in Europe. It was easy for me to make a decision when I was offered a place at LTH, because of its recognition in the field of telecommunication.
The programme provides in-depth knowledge in a wide range of subjects in the area, and courses are taught by renowned professors and with well-structured course materials. The courses are also quite flexible, allowing time for extracurricular activities as part of the vibrant student life at LTH and Lund, including participating in multiple weeks of introduction programmes, being a part of the student nations, and working for one of the largest career fairs in Scandinavia – Arkad. I worked as Arkad's host, responsible for the companies Ericsson and Sandvine, which helped me build a network and secure an internship. Another factor that pushed me in this direction is the amount of research conducted at the university – around 5 000 papers are published every year, coupled with substantial funding.
I had gathered quite a lot of information about my studies in Lund before arriving and still, there were a couple of things I wish I'd thought of earlier. These include re-learning the basics of maths and other relevant subjects, learning some basic Swedish, and investing in a good set of winter essentials for the cold and dark periods, which are not actually as bad as they sound, thanks to the numerous opportunities present at Lund University.
Thank you for reading this and be sure to follow my blog posts to read more and reach out to me in case you want to ask me something or say hi! Take care.
