Summary, in English

Abstract in Undetermined
Semantics is generally defined as the study of meaning. The meaning of words, phrases, and texts is the subject of semantics in linguistics, but in psychology the scope is wider, including knowledge of facts and concepts as well. In cognitive neuroscience both uses appear, often with an im- plicit understanding that knowledge and language meaning use the same neural system. In this chapter, we present a current overview of the se- mantic system. A broad perspective is provided, including what parts of the brain are involved, functional organization, and theoretical aspects.
