Summary, in English

Sweden do not meet the environmental objective "Good quality groundwater", one of the reasons is the poor general understanding of groundwater. The control of pollutions is insufficient and it has recently been noted that the storage of water in large areas of the country is inadequate. At Revingehed about 2 kilometers east of Lund, there are several pump wells that is used for education (of future groundwater experts). Lund University is prepering to apply for permission from the environmental court to conduct water activities with drainage of water from this water area. This thesis has been conducted for use as a basis in the forthcoming assessment for use of the pump wells impact on the envirorment. The results showed that Lund University's withdrawal of water do not exceed the freshwater formation and the withdrawal does not affect the groundwater magazine. The surface watercourses in the area is shallow and for that reason it is not deemed to be affected by the pumping, which occurring in the deeper bedrock aquifer. There is no risk for subsidence in the soil deposits because there is no reduction of groundwater. And in the bedrock where the reduction of groundwater occurs, due to the pumping, there are no lithificated sediments. As only a few pollutions are detected that exceed the limit values, there is no risk that the pumping will cause pollutions to spread. The use of the pump wells are assessment to comply with the general rules of consideration, due to monitoring and sampling of the water that are removed from the aquifer to the nearby river ”Ålabäcken” during pumping. The assessment showed that the use of the pump wells in Revingehed for education purposes contribute to increased groundwater knowledge in society, which is required for future generations to have access to clean water and to prevent water shortage.
