The manual is intended for managers, teachers and practitioners working with adults in universities. It may also be of interest to staff trainers and professional development co-ordinators, policy makers and administrators with an interest in adult higher learning, staff of national agencies who have a role to play in increasing adult participation in universities, adult learners, or indeed anyone else with an interest in widening participation in the higher education sector.
The manual focuses on key areas that university managers and practitioners should consider if they wish to widen participation including issues like the adult curriculum, adult education methodology, adult students’ support and guidance, community outreach and ICT as a method for widening participation.
