Ontology for Robotics: a Roadmap

Author

Summary, in English

In this paper the problem of modeling and design by using an ontology-based methodology is addressed. Ontology is a pretty new concept in the robotics fields. However, developing an example we will show that important advantages can be obtained in terms of design and robustness. The crucial point will be the definition of compound tasks, devices, and skills to facilitate the reasoning on different levels of abstraction.
