Det pinsamma mötet mellan forskare och bibliotekarier - några erfarenheter från undervisningen i litteratursökning vid De konstnärliga högskolorna i Malmö

Author

  • Peter Berry

Summary, in English

Librarians and researchers - memories of embarrassing encounters and hopes for a bright future.

As a bibliographic instructor of Ph.D. candidates at the Malmö Academies of Performing Arts, the author is looking for reasons why he seems to fail to make a reasonable impact. He suggests that one important condition consists of how researchers consider their role vis-à-vis librarians. Interviews seem to confirm results of other studies, indicating that relations with librarians generally are regarded as of very limited interest. Some do, however, favor a rapprochement which leads the author to speculate about the merits of a "new" professional role, a symbiosis of researcher and librarian, and a developing sense of commonality.
