An improved MIMO detector for high data rates wireless communications

Summary, in English

The sphere detector is near-optimal in bit error rates (BER) performance for MIMO detection, but it suffers from the lower detection throughput. In this paper, we propose an improvement to the sub-optimal MIMO detection. The proposed detector can achieve a much higher detection throughput than the sphere detector, with a comparable complexity and a small degradation in BER performance at high signal-to-noise ratios. The proposed detector is thus suitable for high data rates wireless communications.
