All international students are recommended to arrive in Lund on the official Arrival Day, which is approximately two weeks before the start of the semester.
Next Arrival Day (for autumn 2013 studies) will be on 20 August 2013.
During Arrival Day, international mentors will meet you at the railway station in Lund and take you to the AF building for the Arrival Day reception. You will recognise the international mentors by their light blue t-shirts with the Lund University logo. The AF building is on the University campus and there will be signs to guide you if you arrive when the mentors are not there to meet you. The AF building is number 14a on the campus map (Pdf 272 kB).
Make sure to bring your admission letter or your letter of acceptance and your passport.
When you arrive at the AF building, you leave your luggage in the luggage room and go to the check-in desk that applies to you: exchange students check in at the exchange student check-in desk and students coming on their own (not through an exchange programme) check in at the Master’s student desk in the same room.
At the Arrival Day reception you will receive a welcome package with useful information about Lund University, student life and the Skåne region. You will also receive your personal envelope including your login information to your Lund University email account, the university wireless network and the university computers, as well as your enrolment form.
Exchange students and Erasmus Mundus students will also receive their Student Portal login. (Master's and Bachelor's degree students receive their Student Portal login information as part of their pre-arrival information, before coming to Lund.)
Students who have confirmed housing through LU Accommodation will meet representatives from LU Accommodation to check in and get their keys. Bopoolen, another accommodation agency, will also be present on Arrival Day.
Tickets for the excursions as well as for the official welcome party are for sale at the Arrival Day reception. Payments can only be made in cash.
Exchange students who have applied for the course in introductory Swedish, SUSA, can get information about their group and buy course literature from the SUSA representatives.
As we welcome hundreds of international students on Arrival Day, there may sometimes be long waiting times and queues. We ask for your understanding and patience. However, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask the international mentors. They will be present all day and are happy to help you.
Be sure to inform your contact person (exchange student coordinator or programme coordinator) of your arrival date. If you have a confirmed room through LU Accommodation, you will need to go to LU Accommodation on arrival to pick up your key.
When you have completed all practical matters on Arrival Day the international mentors and our minibus shuttle service will take you to your new accommodation in Lund.
There will be more activities and information meetings in the weeks following Arrival Day. More information about these will be available on Arrival Day.
We look forward to seeing you on Arrival Day! If you have any questions regarding the arrangements on Arrival Day, please contact the International Desk.
