Programme overview

  • Master's Programme, 1 Year, Full time
  • Code: LU-18137
  • 60 credits
  • Lund Campus
  • Study period: 21 Aug 2013 – 07 Jun 2014

This programme will provide you with a better understanding of the various challenges facing the practising manager and consultant from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Uniquely, the programme draws its inspiration from the internationally recognised research areas of the lecturers on the programme. These include the fields of knowledge management, identity in organisations, organisational culture, and leadership and change. In particular, the programme emphasises the strategic nature of the contemporary challenges associated with managing organisations and work. Theoretical concepts, models and tools will be compared with real and complex problems in organisations in order to train students in advanced problem solving. The course also aims at introducing, explaining and applying the methodological aspects of studying organisations, especially in terms of interventions aimed at bringing about organisational change.

When you apply for this programme, you must also submit a Statement of Purpose: www.lusem.lu.se/statement-of-purpose.

Career prospects
The programme is aimed in particular, but not exclusively, at students seeking to pursue careers in management consulting, human resources or general management. It is evident that the labour market values graduates who have a combination of in-depth business knowledge and knowledge of human resources.

“When a lot of focus is placed on the individual, a lot depends on you and your self-discipline to get the work done. In this way, the students have a greater say in their studies instead of everything being controlled from the top by the lecturers.”
