Students who are citizens of countries outside of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland are generally required to pay application and tuition fees.
There are some exceptions to this general rule. The following is a list of criteria which exempts individuals, meaning they do not have to pay application and tuition fees. If you do not meet any of these criteria, you are most likely required to pay fees.

For more information regarding residence permits, please see the Swedish Migration Board website.
Tuition fees are usually stated per programme per year. For courses, tuition fees are usually stated for the full course. In one year of full-time studies you will normally acquire 60 ECTS. However, tuition fees are linked to the amount of credits, ECTS and not the time you study. The fee is always the same per ECTS regardless of your study pace.
If you are required to pay application and tuition fees, you must pay the application fee of SEK 900 (approximately EUR 100) when you apply for your programme at www.universityadmissons.se. You pay one application fee per semester, regardless of how many programmes or courses you apply to.
Once you have received notification of your acceptance to Lund University and have confirmed your acceptance, you will receive an invoice by e-mail for the tuition fee of the first semester (30 ECTS if you are studying full time). Payment should be made in advance for the next semester. If you have been granted a scholarship, the amount awarded will be deducted from your invoice accordingly.
Once the fee for the first semester is paid, you can apply for your residence permit through the Swedish Migration Board.
Please note that the tuition fee is to be paid in Swedish Crowns (SEK). The Euro price is an approximate price for comparison only.

“I chose this particular Master’s Programme because it combines molecular biology with biotechnology and genetics - two fields that are quite different, but complement each other very well. What I really like about my studies here is the dynamic way of teaching, the courses and the variety of subjects covered in each course.”
