  • Code: XAMIS
  • 120 credits
  • Lund Campus
  • Study period: 07 Oct 2013 – 02 Oct 2015

The Master´s Programme in Environmental Management and Policy prepares environment policy makers who understand business, and corporate environmental decision makers who understand policy. Our global and cross-disciplinary student group undertakes a large number of study visits and exercises with external partners. The programme addresses the environmental challenges, as well as opportunities in technical systems. We deal with organisational and managerial strategies, and the policy approaches built on law, economics and informational policy instruments. The coursework is intense and demanding, but also creates strong professional and personal competences and networks. The unique disposition of the four blocks allows for a great deal of individual customisation. Minimum time on campus in Lund is 9 months, and it is of course possible to spend the full 2 years here, depending on personal preferences.

Introductory block (30 ECTS ) Oct 2013 - June 2014. This block is conducted on-line, which gives our students a variety of choices. Some stay on at current jobs in their home countries while others come to Sweden from start - there is an on-site option as well. Studies during this block can be combined with internships, voluntary work, other studies etc. Courses provide essentials for the coming parts of the programme: environmental science, business fundamentals, principles of technical systems, economics and consumption. Advanced block (30 ECTS ) and Applied block (30 ECTS ) August 2014 - May 2015. These nine months require on campus presence in Lund Sweden. It is an intense period, filled with lectures, seminars, excursions and projects. Focus lies on understanding the corporate and governmental perspectives, both from an academic and a practical perspective. Practitioners, alumni included, have an important role in the teaching. The period involves a course on assessment of environmental performance as well as individual research papers and several group assignments. Master´s thesis block (30 ECTS ) June 2015 - September 2015. Depending on the conditions of the thesis project this period can be spent in Lund or elsewhere. Graduation week takes place on campus in late September.
