Daryl Hannah visited Lund University on 14 September 2011 to participate in "Q-Day - an evening of inspiration 2011". This is an annual event which asks the questions: What will the world look like in ten years’ time? Will that be the way we want it to be? What are the most interesting ideas today, and how can we use them towards a better future?
Daryl Hannah is an American actress who made films with directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott. She is also known for her environmental commitment: she is a vegetarian, drives a bio-diesel car, lives in a solar energy house and has been arrested several times for participating in various environmental campaigns. The most recent arrest was on 30 August 2011 when she and a thousand other Americans had a sit-in in front of the White House to protest against an environmentally damaging oil pipeline facility. The Q-Day event is supported by the University, municipality and Region Skåne. A video interview with Daryl Hannah can be seen on LU's YouTube channel.
