On 29 May 2012 HRH Prince Daniel of Sweden visited Lund University to learn more about the latest research findings in cardiovascular disease and lung diseases such as asthma and COPD.

The visit was to the Clinical Research Centre (CRC), the Faculty of Medicine and Region Skåne’s research centre in Malmö, where Prince Daniel met Olle Melander and Leif Bjermer, both professors at the University and consultants at Skåne University Hospital.

Professors Melander and Bjermer are the two latest recipients of the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation’s major research grant and the visit took place at the initiative of Prince Daniel in his capacity as an honorary member of the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation.

Besides the researchers’ presentations, Prince Daniel also viewed the research environment at CRC, including the simulation centre for training in emergency medicine and the laboratories.
