Lund University maintains top 100 position

Lund University maintains its position as one of the world’s top 100 universities, with a ranking of 71st place in the 2012 QS World University Rankings, released today. The ranking also places Lund University in the top among Swedish universities.
Some subject areas also rank very high as part of the QS World University Rankings by subject 2012 – with a number of subjects ranking in the top 50’s and 50-100 bracket.• Top 50 university: 20th in Geography
• Top 50 university: 43rd in Environmental sciences
• Top 50 university: 47th in Civil engineering
• Top 100 university: 51-100 bracket for Electrical engineering and Mechanical engineering
• Top 100 university: 51-100 bracket for medicine and biological science
There are about 17 000 universities and colleges in the world today and QS evaluates 700 of the world’s best universities and ranks 400 out of those. With our position as number 71 we belong to the top 0, 4 % of the world’s universities.
