Research
Within elementary particle physics the inner constituents of nuclear matter, the quarks, are studied, how they interact via the exchange of gluons, and how the quark-gluon interplay is reflected in the production and properties of particles in high-energy collision processes. Also CP violation and the interplay between weak and strong forces in hadronic interactions and decays is studied theoretically. There is a very close contact with experimental developments.
