Lund University - once again top ranked

We are proud to announce that Lund University has once again maintained its position as one of the world’s top 100 universities, with a ranking of 80th in the just released Times Higher Education World University 2011-2012 rankings.
This is a climb from last year's 89th place. Lund University is in top among Swedish, as well as Scandinavian comprehensive universities.The Times Higher Education World University ranking 2011-2012
In September the 2011/12 QS World University Rankings was released placing Lund University 86th in the world. Lund University is also ranked highly in a number of subject specific areas as part of the QS World University Rankings by subject 2011 - a new set of rankings that have been gradually released over the past few months.
Specifically Lund is ranked as one of the top 50 or top 100 universities in the following subject areas:
• Top 50 university: 39th in environmental sciences
• Top 50 university: 39th in geography and area studies
• Top 50 university: 43rd = in civil and structural engineering
• Top 100 university: 51-100 for chemical engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing
• Top 100 university: 51-100 bracket for medicine and biological science
• Top 100 university: 51-100 bracket for sociology, politics and international studies, law and economics
