Social Innovation in a Digital Context

Collage with groups of students

Social Innovation in a Digital Context (SIDC) is a one year Master's programme, comprising 60 academic credits. The programme is financed by the Swedish Institute and carried out by the Lund University Internet Institute in cooperation with Lund University Commissioned Education.

The SIDC programme supports social and digital innovators from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia to pursue project work in the fields of digital technology, new media and socio-political change.

The programme is designed for the participants to develop creative and viable individual projects that help strengthen human rights and democracy building in their home countries. SIDC consists of face-to-face learning during two intensive periods in Sweden with study visits, lectures and seminars. A series of online courses and a one-week project follow-up, in New York, concludes the programme.

The network, knowledge and skills gained during these periods are of substantial importance to the development of the change project conducted over the course of the year.
