At Lund University, we know that our alumni play an invaluable role in sharing the Lund University experience with prospective students and staying connected with other alumni around the globe. About the Ambassador Programme
What do Ambassadors do?
Global Alumni Ambassadors can choose to increase their engagement with the University in a number of ways, such as:
- Being featured in an alumni portrait or alumni testimonial. Alumni portraits are presented in both our digital and printed communications.
- Being a regional alumni contact. As a regional contact, you may connect with other alumni in your local area and serve as a point of contact in your region for student recruitment and alumni staff at Lund University.
- Inspiring students based on your career experience through blog posts, testimonials, video greetings, workshops for current students, etc.
- Participating as a panelist in alumni and/or recruitment digital webinars to share your alumni story with prospective students, current students and/or fellow alumni.
- Taking an active role in hosting/co-hosting events in your region.
- Assisting Lund University staff at education fairs in your region by sharing your experience with prospective students.
- Helping university staff with pre-departure events for incoming LU students. Pre-departure events can be in the form of either digital webinars or in-person events in your local area.
- Being an alumni Instagram ambassador by doing an Instagram 'take-over' where you are featured on the @alumni_lunduniversity Instagram account.
Ambassadors will be given the opportunity to express their interest in each activity during the application process and will only be contacted about activities in which they have registered an interest. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to update their changing interest in activities on an annual basis.
What is the expected time commitment?
The amount of time dedicated to the programme will vary from ambassador to ambassador depending on the type of activities or events each person signs up for. All participation is completely voluntary and at the discretion of your schedule.
What are the benefits of becoming a Global Alumni Ambassador?
Besides the enjoyment of inspiring future Lund University students and staying connected with your fellow alumni, as a global alumni ambassador you will also have close contact with Lund University. The Alumni Relations Office will check in with you two–three times per year. You will be invited to exclusive ambassador networking events and guest lectures. Active ambassadors will also receive an LU gift every year.
