A research project about integration, job quality and employment in the European labour market is launching an interactive map with which you can test your own hypotheses.
In the project, around 20 researchers are studying the underlying mechanisms for the interplay between innovation, employment and job quality. Their conclusions will be presented in spring 2018.
The project goes under the name QuInnE - Quality of Jobs and Innovation Generated Employment Outcomes. It will run for three years and involves researchers from Sweden, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, France, Hungary and Spain. In total, the project has been awarded SEK 25 million by the EU research and development programme Horizon 2020.
How the researchers define …
… job quality: To measure job quality, the researchers used six overall dimensions of job quality: salary level, terms of employment, training and professional development, working conditions, work-life balance and gender equality and employee representation (both through unions and opportunity for influence within the organisations).
… innovation: Innovation is measured on the basis of two main categories, each with their own two subcategories: Technological innovation – products and processes. Non-technological innovation – organisational innovation and marketing innovation.
… employment: Degree of employment, proportion of people working under various forms of employment, and size of vulnerable groups in work.
