Why did you choose Lund University?

In a world where higher education is both more important than ever, and under greater threat than ever, it is truly inspiring to see a university invest in a positive international outlook aimed at a better future. This is a core reason attracting me to the Visiting Professor position at Lund University.

The other core reason is more personal. I grew up in Skåne and have always held Lund University in the highest regard. That feeling has been amplified by my positive interactions with academics from the university.

Can you briefly describe your current research?

My research is predominantly focused on cross-border legal issues in relation to data and the Internet. I work on both public, and private, international law issues in that context.

At the moment, I focus on three distinct, yet related, topics:

  1. Jurisprudential frameworks for jurisdiction and sovereignty in which I depart from the traditional focus on territoriality.
  2. An agenda for peace in Cyberspace.
  3. Cross-border legal issues in relation to online disinformation.

What will be your main research focus during your time at Lund University?

During my time at Lund University, I will work with the colleagues in private international law and any other interested colleagues, primarily with the aim of further developing my jurisprudential frameworks for jurisdiction and sovereignty specifically focusing on their application and impact online within private international law.
