Wireless Communications student ambassador Kunal
Introducing Kunal Joshi
Hi! My name is Kunal and I'm the student ambassador for the Master's Programme in Wireless Communication. I am happy to answer questions you might have about the programme, courses, student life, life in Lund and Sweden. Please note that I cannot answer questions about the application process, scholarships, or residence permits.
My experience so far
After working for 4 years in the telecommunication industry, I was looking for a course focused on the wireless domain and its future, and the programme matched perfectly with what I was looking for. It is a good mixture of current and future prospects in the wireless industry.
I like the programme a lot. In particular, I like that we have the freedom to choose many elective courses along with the basic mandatory ones. I enjoy my classes and the projects I get to work on, as they help me to get a deeper understanding of the subject.
I also like how the University aims to continuously improve by collecting students’ feedback. You have the opportunity to express your views about a course and professors will take steps to improve it. The programme has always lived up to the expectations I had and gave me the opportunity to learn what I wanted to learn.
After graduation, I plan to find a job in research and development, as Sweden is one of the best countries in wireless research. I like to travel, so the best would be to find a job which allows me to travel the world.
Lund is a student town and it never made me feel like a foreigner. It takes a bit of time to adjust, but once you are settled in, you will love this place. Studying at a foreign university was exciting and some habits were quite strange to me, like calling everyone – even your professor – by their first name. Overall, it was an amazing year. The things I will remember the most about this place is my bike, i.e. my lifeline, which helps me to attend my lectures on time, and my first experience of the snow.
