Description
The research focus is language development in children with language impairment and with typical development, carried out in cooperation with earlier doctoral and master students. The following language domains have been studied: phonology, grammar and lexicon. In later years, focus has been on pragmatic and interactional aspects, also in children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and cerebral palsy. In addition, historical studies of the speech-language therapy profession and the study of child language have been performed. An important research area is studying bilingual children, especially Swedish-Arabic, with and without language impairment. Our research has generated different language tests, used in clinical practice. A recent branch of research is the study of language and pragmatic difficulties of clients within the Swedish prison and probation system. Apart from scientific articles, our research has generated textbooks, most recent on bilingual children with language impairment.
