Description

The research group focuses on translational research in infection medicine and uses both clinical, microbiological, and molecular methods to adress questions related to severe bacterial infections. The work concern different areas including • Severe infections with aerococci, streptococci and other Gram-positive bacteria • The diagnosis and management of infective endocarditis • The effect of antibiotics in bacterial biofilms The PI, Magnus Rasmussen, is an infectious diseases specialist and associate professor who shares his time between clinical duties and research at BMC in Lund. Gisela Håkansson, MSc, is the manager of the laboratory located at BMC B14. There are five PhD students; Erik Senneby (resident in microbiology), Kristina Trell (infectious diseases specialist), Torgny Sunnerhagen (diploma in medicine), Daniel Johansson, and Anna Bläckberg (interns).
