The course is organised around weekly themes introduced by a lecture, followed by compulsory team-based learning (TBL) exercises and method discussions. Each theme includes lectures and seminars where you prepare and analyse material for discussion. You will practise reading research articles, extracting key information, and making oral presentations that connect to previous course content.

To be admitted to course, students must have at least 120 first or second-cycle credits in science subjects, including at least 15 credits in cell biology, 15 credits in biochemistry, 15 credits in pathobiology/pharmacology/toxicology/molecular medicine, and 7.5 credits in physiology.

Seats are allocated according to: ECTS (HPAV): 100 %.

There are no tuition fees for citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.

Deepen your knowledge of cell biology and human physiology while exploring endocrine and metabolic diseases. You will start with the normal physiology of endocrine organs and how they regulate metabolism. Then, you will examine endocrine pathophysiology from different perspectives, including cardiovascular complications linked to metabolic syndrome and genetic aspects of metabolic diseases. The course prepares you for research by introducing ongoing studies in these fields.
