In the short course Climathon (part of LU's X-courses initiative), you will spend two intensive days working on climate and sustainability solutions from real companies and then reflect on the processes and conclusions in a short written report. You will follow climate research and education as tools for building a sustainable future.

Students, researchers and business representatives share an understanding of the need for effective solutions to the problems of climate change and examine the possibilities for moving forward, both through participation in the Climathon event and through written reflection in a memorandum. During the course, you will meet students and researchers from different parts of LU who all focus on climate issues.

You will participate in a two-day Climathon event with around 100 participants who work intensively on business-related climate and sustainability cases.

The course requires that you actively participate in the event and that you, as a student, subsequently write a short reflective essay that you can then discuss with teachers and other students on the course.

During the course, you will be examined by defending your essay. The course is taught in English and much of the work for the event is done in small groups.

Once you have completed the course, you will have a greater understanding of how climate and sustainability work can be carried out in professional contexts and will also have had the opportunity to reflect on your own scientific approach to these issues.
