The course involves a combination of lectures and exercise sessions. The lectures introduce key concepts and methods, while the exercises give you hands-on practice in solving problems and applying the material to economic questions. The emphasis is on active learning, where you develop confidence in using mathematical reasoning through guided problem-solving.

Assessment comprises of a written exam and home assignments. The home assignments provide an opportunity to practise throughout the course, receive feedback, and prepare for the final exam. The written exam tests your ability to apply the methods independently and under time constraints. Together, these forms of examination ensure that you understand the material and are able to use it in practical and analytical ways.
