In this course, you will learn to confidently play music by ear and perform in an ensemble within folk and world music. You will also be able to master genre-specific characteristics within folk and world music traditions, communicate your ideas for arranging and artistic interpretation, and collaborate with fellow musicians to create personal interpretations of musical material.

Teaching is primarily done by ear and you need to be fairly independent on your instrument. Prior experience in folk and world music is not required.

The course combines online-based preparation with three half-day meetings per semester on weekends. As some of the Academy's exchange students usually participate, the language of instruction is in English.
