The degree project is your opportunity to deepen your knowledge in an area you are passionate about. It is usually the final course in your Master’s programme and gives you the opportunity to independently carry out a project, contribute to current research or solve an applied task.

The degree project is an important part of your Master’s degree in Geology. It offers you the opportunity to independently solve a specific task within a set timeframe and present your results in a thesis. You may choose to work on a fundamental research project or an applied problem. The degree project can be carried out at 30, 45, or 60 ECTS credits.

  • Opportunity for internship.

During the degree project, you will receive support from a supervisor who will help you choose a topic and guide you through the process. You will write a thesis that will be published in the department’s thesis series and present your work orally at a seminar. There is also an opportunity to combine the degree project with an internship.

Prerequisites

A minimum of 210 ECTS credits, including 30 ECTS credits in Geology at the advanced level, normally corresponding to two of the courses GEOM01-GEOM11 or GEON01-GEON07. English course 6/B.
