In this course, you will explore the interrelationship between global health and human rights. Health is a prerequisite for the enjoyment of rights, and the enjoyment of rights is a prerequisite for good health. The course goes through both historical perspectives, current issues and practical examples from research and practice in the field.

The course structure is designed to promote independent work, critical reflection and discussion in an online environment.

The course is given at half-speed and online, which means that you can participate wherever you are. The course includes interactive lectures, seminars, and group discussions that are spread throughout the course period. The seminars are compulsory and give you the opportunity to practically apply theoretical concepts, develop your reflective and analytical skills together with others, and discuss and analyze complex issues related to global health and human rights.

If you miss a compulsory component, you need to complete a supplementary assignment that corresponds to the missed component.

The course "Global Health and Human Rights" gives you an in-depth understanding of how health and human rights interact. By exploring historical perspectives, current issues, and practical examples from research and practice, you'll gain a broad and diverse knowledge base.

Knowledge in global health and human rights is relevant in many different areas. The course can be particularly valuable for those who work in public health, international organizations or with human rights.
