How to apply

Please review all tabs below carefully to find out what you need to do to make a complete and correct application for studies at Lund University.

Follow the guide below to understand the application process and make sure you complete all steps before the deadline.

Lund University uses the national application system run by University Admissions in Sweden. You can apply while an application round is open or if the course is open for late application.

Applying during a local application round

This course is open for application during the round that is primarily intended for EU/EEA citizens.

If you are applying from outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland, we do not recommend applying during this round due to the shorter application and admissions timeline. Instead, check whether the course or programme is available in the international application round. The international round is intended for international applicants to Bachelor’s and Master’s studies taught in English.

When to apply for Bachelor’s and Master’s studies

1. Check the entry requirements

Now that you have found a course you are interested in, carefully review the entry requirements on the course overview page before starting your application.

2. Create an account and submit your application

  • Create an account/profile at Antagning.se or Universityadmissions.se.
  • Find and add the course(s) on Antagning.se.
  • Rank your choices in order of preference.
  • Submit your application before the deadline.

Note, that during a local application round, you must first find and add the course on the Swedish website Antagning.se before logging in to Universityadmissions.se to complete your application. This procedure works for all types of profiles at Antagning.se/Universityadmissions.se, except when you log in via a Swedish university student portal.

3. Submit your supporting documents

Submit all required documents before the deadline. Depending on your educational background and country-specific requirements, you may need to upload documents online or arrange for official documents to be sent.

Check whether your application requires both general and course-specific documents.

See the documents tabs for more information.

4. Pay the application fee

Applicants from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland are generally required to pay an application fee. If you are exempt from the fee, you must submit proof of your exemption.

See the Application fee tab for details.

Prepare general documents

Read about how to document your eligibility and how to submit your documents when making an application.

Application fee and exemptions

The application fee for non-EU/EEA citizens is SEK 900. You pay one application fee regardless of how many courses you apply for.

There is no application fee for citizens of:

  • the European Union (EU)
  • the European Economic Area (EEA) and
