Japanese: Readings in Literature and Linguistics 2

This course builds on Japanese – Linguistic Text Course 1 (JAPM13). You will learn to translate and discuss advanced linguistic texts in Japanese. We will explore syntactic, morphological, and semantic aspects and discuss the significance of these texts for the field of linguistics. The course also includes key articles from international English-language journals.

Course literature

The course literature listed may be updated up to eight weeks before the course begins.

The course consists of approximately 10 mandatory seminars. You will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and exercises that help you understand and analyze the texts. The course concludes with two written assignments and one oral presentation.

After completing the course, you will have advanced knowledge of Japanese and linguistics, which can open doors to further studies or career opportunities in translation, research, or international relations.
