We discuss the gene editing process and how genome sequencing works in different organisms. After the course, you will have gained knowledge about how these techniques are used in daily life, such as in food, medicine, nutrition, and the environment.
The course is offered as a standalone introductory course in chemistry.
The teaching consists of lectures and study visits. The examination is conducted the form of a written report. The course is offered in a hybrid format, so you can attend both on campus and online. The lectures cover the latest techniques in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and gene editing. You will learn:
- Fundamental concepts in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and gene editing
- The gene editing process
- How genome sequencing works in different organisms
- Various biotechnological applications in plant breeding and food technology
