Programme structure

Here you find information about the programme's structure and layout, as well as a list of the various courses included in the programme.

Outline

The full programme comprises two years of study, but if you choose, you can take just one year. In both cases, the final examination consists of writing a Master’s thesis in Literature – Culture – Media.

Compulsory courses for a Master’s (60 credits) degree:

  • LIVR50 LCM: An Introduction (15 ECTS) or LIVR51 LCM: Literary Theory and Method (15 ECTS)
  • 30 ECTS of subject-specific courses of which one must be LIVR52 LCM: 20th Century Literature of Latin America, (15 ECTS) or LIVR55 LCM: Social Critique and Aesthetics in the Contemporary Spanish Novel, (15 ECTS)
  • Master’s (60 credits) Thesis (15 ECTS).

Compulsory courses for a Master’s degree (120 credits):

  • LIVR50 LCM: An Introduction (15 ECTS)
  • LIVR51 LCM: Literary Theory and Method (15 ECTS)
  • 30 ECTS of subject-specific courses of which one must be LIVR52 LCM: 20th Century Literature of Latin America, (15 ECTS) or LIVR55 LCM: Social Critique and Aesthetics in the Contemporary Spanish Novel, (15 ECTS)
  • Master’s Degree Thesis (30 ECTS)
  • Electives (30 ECTS).
