Application dates

Managing People, Organisations and Change prepares you to become a manager and leader who understands the complex challenges organisations face today.

In this programme, you will develop a broad understanding of managing and leading organisations, while exploring contemporary challenges related to people and work, organisational change, creativity, technology and sustainability. You will learn to analyse complex organisational situations from different perspectives and understand how they are shaped by different actors, interests and interpretations.

The programme places strong emphasis on independent thinking and critical reflection. Rather than treating management as a set of ready-made solutions, you will learn to question established assumptions, critically evaluate different approaches and consider their possibilities and limitations. This will help you become a reflective and responsible practitioner, equipped to make informed decisions in situations where there may be no simple solution.

Information about name change

The programme has changed names from Managing People, Knowledge and Change (EAGMP) to Managing People, Organisations and Change (EAGMO). The changes apply for studies starting autumn semester 2027 and onwards.

Syllabus

The syllabus provides an overview of the programme. It outlines the admission requirements, lists the courses included, and explains which degree the studies lead to.

Syllabus (PDF, new tab)

In this programme, you will learn to analyse organisational challenges using theoretical concepts and research-based knowledge, and to apply these perspectives to contemporary organisational situations.

Teaching and learning are student-centred and highly participative. Interactive lectures are combined with seminars, case work and projects. A key feature of the programme is its emphasis on collaborative learning. Working in diverse and international teams, you will develop your ability to consider different perspectives, communicate ideas, manage disagreements and address complex problems together.

Your teachers are active researchers who bring current research and contemporary debates into the classroom. The programme also maintains close connections to organisational practice through cases, projects, guest lectures and interactions with organisations and alumni. Throughout the programme, you are expected to take an active role in your learning and contribute your curiosity, experiences and perspectives.

After the programme, you will be prepared for a wide range of careers across industries and countries, including roles in an international context. Graduates work in consulting, human resources, finance, communications and organisational development, often in roles involving change, people management and organisational development.

Common job titles include consultant, senior consultant, business analyst, HR generalist and project manager, which are positions that involve analysing organisational challenges, developing organisations and people, managing projects and supporting strategic decision-making.

Our graduates are employed by companies such as Deloitte, Accenture, PwC, Capgemini, KPMG, Handelsbanken, IKEA, Tetra Pak, Rituals and Mars. Some work for organisations such as UNICEF and Greenpeace, while others have started their own businesses. The programme also provides a foundation for further academic study and research.
