General entry requirements and knowledge corresponding to LINB25 Phonetics: Introduction to Phonetics (7,5 ECTS) and LINC11 Linguistics: Speech Acoustics, Perception and Prosody (7,5 ECTS)

Selection criteria

Seats are allocated according to the following: The general average (GPA) of your higher secondary school leaving certificate: 34 %, The Swedish national university aptitude test: 34 %, number of previous ECTS at the application deadline (up to 165): 32 %.

There are no tuition fees for citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.

This course introduces you to the science of how speech is made and understood. You’ll learn how the muscles in your mouth and throat help produce speech sounds, how air flows and sound waves are formed, and how your brain and senses are involved in speaking and listening. You’ll also explore key theories and research in speech production and perception.
