The course gives you the opportunity to explore an area of physics through an independent project. The project can be theoretical or experimental, and the work includes researching information, planning, implementation and analysing your results.

The project can be a preliminary study for a degree project or a further development of a previous course project. You will also receive training in linking theory, method and practice in physics.

You present your results both in writing and orally. 

You contact a supervisor before the course starts and you plan the project together. The work includes literature studies, practical or theoretical work, documentation and presentation. You write a project plan with a schedule and, if relevant, risk assessment and ethical considerations.

The project lasts for ten weeks and corresponds to half-time studies. You will document your work on an ongoing basis and conclude with a report and an oral presentation. The report is written as a scientific article or in another form, depending on the structure of the project.

This course is only available as part of a programme.

Entry requirements

For admission to the course, a degree of Bachelor of Science, 90 credits in physics, including 15 credits at second-cycle level, as well as English 6/B are required.

Selection criteria

Seats are allocated according to: ECTS (HPAV): 100 %.
