Outline

The programme runs over two years (120 credits) and is taught on campus in Lund. 

  • Strong focus on theory, ethnography and research design
  • Flexible third semester with options for fieldwork, internship or elective courses
  • Opportunity to tailor your studies to your interests
  • Taught in English, with a mix of lectures, seminars and practical work

Programme overview

Year 1

You will start with key debates in social anthropology and learn how to use ethnographic methods. In the second semester, you’ll study advanced theory and learn how to design your own research project.

Year 2

You will shape your own path through optional courses, fieldwork or an internship. The final semester is dedicated to your Master’s thesis, where you apply what you’ve learned in an independent research project.
