Special emphasis is placed on theoretical discussions regarding the various ways social policy addresses social change at different levels – European, national, and local.

The course consists of two main components: one focusing on theory and the other on ongoing transformations in contemporary welfare societies. During the course, you will study themes such as:

  • Labour market and employment
  • Inequality
  • Poverty and social exclusion
  • Sustainable welfare and eco-social policy

The course is conducted in English and is an independent course within the main field of social work. It is included as an elective course in the social work programme and can also be part of a Master's degree in social work.
