You will write an independent thesis in which you formulate your own research question, examine current research and apply relevant theories and methods. The work should demonstrate that you can think critically, work independently and communicate your results clearly.
At the final seminar, you present your thesis and provide constructive feedback on another student’s work.
Much of the course involves working independently. Your supervisor provides support with planning and structure, but you are responsible for completing your thesis within the set timeframe.
This course includes:
- Independent research and thesis writing
- Examination seminar with peer review
- Discussion of another student’s thesis
You can choose to write in Swedish or English.
By completing this course, you can extend a one-year master’s degree to a full two-year master’s degree in sociology.
