A research focused education and lively study environment

At the Department of Biology, students in biology, molecular biology and bioinformatics study together in a shared environment. Here you can learn about everything from genes and molecules to ecosystems and behaviour, closely linked to ongoing research. Teaching takes place in modern laboratories or in the field. All the lecturers are active and internationally recognised researchers. This creates a unique learning experience where studies and research go hand in hand.

Theory, lab work and field studies

Here you combine theory with practical lab work or field studies. Designated study areas for individual work as well as group collaboration, creates an ideal environment for learning. The tram stopping just outside makes it easy to travel to and from the city. By the Ecology Building, you will find several natural habitats with a wide variety of plants and animals. There are also a café and a popular wooden deck for students to relax and socialize.
