This course is perfect if you already know a little Swedish and want to keep improving at a steady pace. It’s designed for anyone that wants to strengthen their vocabulary, grammar, and confidence in everyday conversations.
You’ll study part-time (25% pace), which means around 10 hours of work per week. The course is taught entirely online, so you can join from anywhere.
Please note: This is a freestanding course and cannot be included in a degree at Lund University if you already meet the Swedish language requirement for university admission.
This is a distance course, taught through the learning platform Canvas and live sessions on Zoom. You’ll need a computer with a stable internet connection, a webcam, microphone, and speakers (or built-in audio).
The course includes online lectures, reading and writing tasks, speaking practice, and grammar exercises. You’ll work both independently and in groups.
Learning Swedish opens doors – both in everyday life and in your future career. This course helps you build the language skills needed for internships, part-time jobs, or further studies in Sweden. It’s also a great step if you’re planning to stay longer or apply for Swedish-taught programmes later on.
Prerequisites
To be admitted to the course, students must meet the general entry requirements for higher education in Sweden (with the exception of proficiency in Swedish) and have knowledge equivalent to SVEH12 Swedish for Students with a Foreign Background: Level 2, 7.5 credits
